answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/10/2019 answer text <p>Sustainable biomass is currently eligible for support under the Contract for Difference (CFD), the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) and the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI).</p><p> </p><p>We have announced that all support for coal to biomass conversions will end in 2027.</p><p> </p><p>The consultation on ‘Renewable Heat Incentive: biomass combustion in urban areas’ included the question of excluding new biomass installations in urban areas on the gas grid. A government response will be published in due course. We have undertaken significant work, and prepared legislation, in order to ensure that technical, operational and legal arrangements are in place to seek to maintain the Single Electricity Market whatever the circumstances. We recognise the need to have in place a common set of rules across the Single Electricity Market that govern the arrangement. The exact nature of these is still to be agreed as part of the negotiations.</p><p> </p><p>Once the UK leaves the EU it will no longer participate in or contribute to the EU institutions including the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU). answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/10/2019 answer text <p>Customers with smart meters are cheaper to serve for energy suppliers, and the Government expects the associated savings to be passed on. We are already seeing some suppliers offering cheaper tariffs for customers with smart meters or those that agree to have them installed.</p><p> </p><p>The Government has acted to protect consumers regardless of meter type.
