We have undertaken significant work, and prepared legislation, in order to ensure that technical, operational and legal arrangements are in place to seek to maintain the Single Electricity Market whatever the circumstances. We recognise the need to have in place a common set of rules across the Single Electricity Market that govern the arrangement. The exact nature of these is still to be agreed as part of the negotiations.</p><p> </p><p>Once the UK leaves the EU it will no longer participate in or contribute to the EU institutions including the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU). We are already seeing some suppliers offering cheaper tariffs for customers with smart meters or those that agree to have them installed.</p><p> </p><p>The Government has acted to protect consumers regardless of meter type. It currently includes solar installations reported in BEIS' major power producers survey, the Renewable Energy Planning Database, the Microgeneration Certification Scheme database, and those subsidised by the Renewables Obligation, Feed-in Tariff, and Contracts for Difference. It is therefore for Ofgem to assess the case for a transmission link to the Western Isles. Ofgem consulted between 19<sup>th</sup> March 2019 and 31<sup>st</sup> May 2019 on its ‘minded-to’ decision on a Needs Case for the proposed link, which had been prepared by Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission. On 12<sup>th</sup> September 2019, Ofgem published an update letter on its consideration, which can be found at <a href="https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/publications-and-updates/update-letter-proposed-shetland-and-western-isles-electricity-transmission-projects" target="_blank">https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/publications-and-updates/update-letter-proposed-shetland-and-western-isles-electricity-transmission-projects</a>. Other factors include currency exchange rates and the balance of supply and demand for these fuels in the wholesale petroleum products markets.</p><p> </p><p>Crude oil and petroleum products are traded through liquid international markets. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 01/10/2019 answer text <p>The Government has been implementing a significant programme of work to ensure the UK will be ready to leave the European Union from day one in all scenarios, including in the event of Brexit without a withdrawal agreement.</p><p> </p><p>Operation Yellowhammer planning assumptions are not a prediction of what is going to happen, but reflect a responsible Government preparing for a reasonable worst-case scenario.</p><p> </p><p>The Government believes that in most circumstances the fuel industry is well positioned to respond to disruptions to the supply chain from whatever cause. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 02/10/2019 answer text <p>BEIS is supporting a number of community, business and government-led initiatives, as part of the UK’s bilateral relationship with Brazil, that help increase the value of Brazil’s standing forest, promote the sustainability of agricultural production systems, and restore deforested land.</p><p>Implementation arrangements for these initiatives regularly assess how deforestation levels, and the underlying drivers, are changing relative to recent trends.
