answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/02/2020 answer text <p>The Government is committed to ensuring that everyone entitled to National Living Wage (NLW) and National Minimum Wage (NMW) receives it. This is why we have more than doubled the compliance and enforcement budget for the NMW and NLW to £27.4 million for 2019/20, up from £13.2 million in 2015/16.</p><p> </p><p>In 2018/19, HM Revenue &amp; Customs (HMRC) identified a record £24.4 million in minimum wage arrears for over 220,000 workers and issued over £17 million in penalties to non-compliant employers.</p><p> </p><p>HMRC use a range of techniques ranging from ‘nudge’ letters in low risk cases to criminal prosecution in the most egregious cases of underpayment. The British Business Bank has issued 1,009 loans in Northern Ireland since 2012, to an average value of £7,217 and £7,285,132 in total and we announced in May a £105 million economic package for the Derry/Londonderry region.</p><p> </p><p>BEIS officials have an ongoing working relationship with officials in the Northern Ireland Civil Service. The team works closely with local Trading Standards Services in all areas of the UK to disseminate Friends Against Scams training into local communities. The team also works with national and local organisations that have pledged their support to the initiative across the UK. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/10/2018 answer text <p>This Government recognises that High Street retailing is evolving, but high streets remain a crucial part of our local and regional economies, creating jobs, nurturing small businesses and injecting billions of pounds into our economy.</p><p> </p><p>Under current assessments, the majority of employment remains in high street retail. 95% of retail jobs related to traditional retailers in 2017, with 5% of jobs accounted for by online only retailers.</p><p> </p><p>To make assessments of potential changes, we have assembled an industry led expert panel focusing on what consumers and local communities want from their high streets of the future. In conjunction with the expert panel, evidence sessions are also being held across the country. We want to know what the public, and young people in particular, want from their high streets of the future.
