answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/03/2018 answer text <p>The Northern Powerhouse will support delivery of our Industrial Strategy boosting growth across the North including the creation of jobs in the North West ensuring an economy that works for everyone.</p><p>We are helping small businesses grow through access to advice on GOV.UK and the Business Support Helpline. We have already invested £12 million in the 38 Growth Hubs in each of the Local Enterprise Partnership areas providing tailored advice to businesses across England. We have announced we will provide a further £24m to continue Growth Hubs for the next 2 years. The Liverpool City Region Growth Hub, which covers St Helens South and Whiston constituency, has supported over 5, 800 businesses and helped 1,500 individuals to start a business.</p><p>In February 2017, we launched the £400 million Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund to give small businesses in the North access to finance to help them start-up and grow. 74 investments or loans have been made in the North West totalling over £14m. Four investments have been made in the hon Member's constituency, totalling £270, 000.</p><p>The Regional Growth Fund was established to support job creation and economic growth. £1.59m has been allocated to the hon Member's constituency creating or safeguarding 228 jobs. Over £504 million has been allocated to North West</p><p>In addition, we have invested over £1.5 billion through the Local Growth Fund in North West projects to boost local economies. We will invest £332m in Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership area creating 15,400 jobs. As this is a large and complex case, it is not possible at this early stage to specify a timeframe. Should the official receiver find any evidence of director misconduct this would be referred to the Insolvency Service for further investigation. The Secretary of State has not received any provisional conclusions from the investigation, nor would he expect to do so from either the official receiver or the insolvency service. Investigations by the official receiver and the insolvency service are conducted separately from Ministers, as is the making of decisions arising from investigations on any possible prosecution or director’s disqualification.</p><p>For the Financial Reporting Council, the timing of the investigation depends on the size and complexity of the issues to be considered, but will be taken forward as quickly as possible. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/02/2018 answer text <p>Some elements of TUPE do not apply in liquidation, specifically the continuity of service to those employees who transfer to new employers.</p><p> </p><p>Importing employers may well decide to offer terms to transferring employees which recognise existing employment rights; that is a matter for the importing employer, though the Government has the aspiration to ensure transferred employees are no worse off. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 26/02/2018 answer text <p>Our Industrial Strategy aims to make Britain the best place to start and grow a business, and a global draw for the most innovative companies.</p><p>The British Business Bank (BBB) programmes are supporting £4 billion of finance to over 65,000 smaller businesses (as at end Sept 2017), whilst the Start Up Loans programme had lent £392.1m to more than 53,000 entrepreneurs (at end of January 2018). We will also offer support for SMEs in future sectors to tackle barriers growth. This will include a further £900m in the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund for start-ups that are developing new propositions that respond to key global challenges</p><p>The Government also provides support to start-up businesses across England through GOV.UK and the Business Support Helpline. In addition we have funded the provision of tailored advice and support through the Coventry and Warwickshire Growth Hub and across the Midlands via the establishment of a Growth Hubs in each Local Enterprise Partnership area.</p><p>The Coventry and Warwickshire Growth Hub provides support to businesses in Coventry and includes a number of bespoke business support schemes for start-ups. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 26/02/2018 answer text <p>The issue of one-sided flexibility was considered as part of the Taylor Review of Modern Working Practices.</p><p> </p><p>The Review considered a range of penalties designed to punish employers who schedule work at late notice, or offer work only to cancel it at the last minute. However, these tended to have wider implications and would be complex to administer and enforce, meaning those who required additional protection may not benefit from any changes.</p><p> </p><p>However, the Government remains committed to ensuring that flexibility does not benefit the employer, at the unreasonable expense of the worker, and that flexibility is genuinely a mutually beneficial arrangement.
