answer text <p>The Prime Minister’s Office and the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office are integral parts of the Cabinet Office.</p><p>The new Q&amp;A system replaces an outdated paper-based process with a digital solution for responding to Written Parliamentary Questions. This has made things considerably more simple for officials, particularly those working in my parliamentary team. In addition, following the introduction of the Q&amp;A system within my Department, a decision was taken to end an existing contract with The Stationery Office that resulted in an annual saving of £6,508 (Ex VAT).</p><p>It will be for the Procedure Committee to evaluate the effectiveness of the Q&amp;A system in improving performance when it assesses the evidence following the end of the session.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>As part of my Department's transparency programme, details of Ministerial meetings with external organisations are published on the Cabinet Office website at: <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/ministers-transparency-publications" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/ministers-transparency-publications</a>. <br> <br> The Government takes a rigorous and robust approach to performance issues with suppliers. Following the material concerns that emerged last year, the Government achieved a settlement with Serco to recompense taxpayers of £70.5m excluding VAT. Serco have developed and are implementing a thorough plan for corporate renewal. Following scrutiny by officials, as well as independent assurers, the Government has accepted that current action being taken by Serco represents the right direction of travel. We will continue to monitor progress.</p><p> </p><p>I have not received a copy of Lord Gold's report, which I understand to be an internal inquiry.</p><p> </p>

answer text <p>The Department for Culture Media and Sport (DCMS) are leading on providing superfast broadband to at least 95% of premises in the UK by 2017 and providing universal access to standard broadband, through Broadband UK.</p><p>The Government Digital Service, in Cabinet Office, is currently conducting further research on those lacking digital skills. answer text <p>The D5 London 2014: Leading Digital Governments Conference met at Idea London and Digital Catapult to discuss how to promote economic growth through open markets, teaching children to code, improving connectivity, and ideas for future collaborative projects.
