answer text <p>The Law Officers’ Convention prevents me from disclosing outside Government whether the Attorney General has been asked to provide advice or the contents of any such advice. This is a longstanding principle of Cabinet collective agreement. The Attorney General has not had any discussions with the Scottish Government on this topic.</p> more like this

answer text <p>On 17<sup>th</sup> April this year, the Advocate General for Scotland and I referred the UK Withdrawal from the European Union (Legal Continuity) (Scotland) Bill to the Supreme Court for a decision on whether the Bill would be within the legislative competence of the Scottish Parliament.</p><p> </p><p>The hearing is due to take place in July 2018 and we are in the process of agreeing a timetable for filing written cases with the Scottish Government in accordance with directions from the Supreme Court.</p><p> </p> more like this
