This work continues and the department is making sustained progress delivering on the recommendations of the Lessons Learned Review and the commitments made in the Comprehensive Improvement Plan (2020).</p><p>Wendy Williams acknowledged that our ambition to achieve genuine cultural change requires ongoing reflection and a commitment to constant improvement. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/01/2023 answer text <p>The Home Office has a statutory obligation to provide accommodation and other support to asylum seekers who would otherwise be destitute while their application for asylum is being considered.</p><p>The significant increase in dangerous journeys across the Channel is placing unprecedented strain on our asylum system and it has made it necessary to continue to use hotels to accommodate some asylum seekers.
