answer text <p>A range of options have been considered for delivering the Windrush recommendations, including discussions with external stakeholders. The Home Office is taking steps to be more transparent to ensure that the department is as open as possible to all types of scrutiny, both internal and external. <del class="ministerial">This requires a fundamental cultural shift in our attitude to people with different views on policy and those who make a complaint when something goes wrong.</del></p><p>We will keep the Home Affairs Select Committee updated on the progress of all the Wendy Williams recommendations.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Home Office is working to improve our performance in answering written parliamentary questions. For details on this continuous improvement I refer the Hon Member to the letter sent from Home Office to the Procedure Committee dated 21 June 2022 https://committees.parliament.uk/publications/23223/documents/169558/default/.</p><p>The Department works to a target of responding to 95% of Hon. Member’s written correspondence within 20 working days.</p><p>Performance against target has been impacted by an unprecedented increase in MPs queries prompted by successive global cases and a surge in HM Passport Office applications following the pandemic.</p><p>The Home Office has since implemented a correspondence recovery plan and as a result, the Home Office is due to return to its 20-day service standard in the week commencing 16 January 2023.</p> more like this

Border Force maintain 100% of the checks for all scheduled arriving passengers into the UK during periods of industrial action and this will be continued during any future periods of strike action.</p><p>Border Force’s robust contingency plans keep our citizens safe and our borders secure. answer text <p>Since April 2021, His Majesty’s Passport Office has advised people to allow up to 10 weeks when applying for their passport using the standard service in the UK.</p><p>Of the standard UK applications resulting in a printed passport in the week ending 15 January 2023, 99.2% had been processed within ten weeks. answer text <p>The UK Resettlement Scheme (UKRS) is a global scheme with a multi-year commitment to resettle vulnerable refugees in need of protection.
