1) We are increasing the size of the National Asylum Intake Unit in response to the exceptional challenges of large-scale clandestine arrivals. This additional resource will enable us to reduce the time asylum seekers wait between registering their asylum claim and conducting the screening interview. 2) Since 1 January 2020, the mean average number of days between asylum application raised date and asylum screening is 36.
