answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 29/01/2021 answer text <p>The data requested on general practitioner (GP) phone reception capacity is not collected or held centrally.</p><p>NHS England and NHS Improvement are working through its seven regions, including Slough, to ensure patients can access appointments in general practice.</p><p>A £150 million General Practice Covid Capacity Expansion Fund has been made available to support expanding GP capacity up to the end of March 2021. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 27/01/2021 answer text <p>General practitioner (GP) practices have remained open throughout the pandemic, offering face to face appointments to those who need them as well as offering telephone and online consultations. In November 2020, over 25 million appointments took place in England and over 173,900 appointments took place in NHS East Berkshire.</p><p> </p><p>The Government has committed to delivering an additional 50 million appointments in general practice per year by 2023/24 and to growing the workforce by 6,000 more doctors and 26,000 more primary care professionals, such as physiotherapists, social prescribers and pharmacists. The position is different for volunteers as they are not employed and provided with a salary from which to provide that sustenance.
