<p>The UK is a leading supporter of efforts to eradicate polio, having invested £1.3
billion since 1995. We work closely with the Global Polio Eradication Initiative through
engagement at regular governance meetings as well as working with a wide range of
other stakeholders including in encouraging others to provide financial support.</p><p>
</p><p>We engage closely with parliamentarians through the International Development
Committee and All-Party Parliamentary Group on Immunisations to raise awareness and
support for continued financing and support to countries at high risk of polio outbreaks.
Parliamentarians have an important role to play in advocating for international financial
support.</p>
