A national speaking up helpline ‘Speak Up Direct’ provides advice and support on speaking up in the NHS for all staff.</p><p>The National Guardian we set up in 2016 and the local network of Freedom to Speak Up Guardians are playing a crucial role across the country in providing safe avenues for staff to raise concerns within their own organisations. Recruitment to places in the Trial is managed locally by participating clinics. Following funding from NHS England to pay for extra PrEP drug and research costs and the my Rt. hon Friend the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care’s announcement on 30 January that the number of places on the PrEP Impact Trial would be doubled to 26,000, expansion of the Trial is now underway across the country. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/07/2019 answer text <p>Discussions with Vertex, including meetings, are ongoing.</p><p>NHS England and NHS Improvement are leading the negotiations with Vertex and have made a revised and improved offer to Vertex that would provide immediate funding for Orkambi and Symkevi in advance of a positive assessment by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), in addition to expanded access to Kalydeco which is already funded by the National Health Service for certain patients.</p><p>The Government fully supports NICE, NHS England and NHS Improvement in seeking to ensure access for patients to effective and innovative medicines at a price that represents value to the NHS, and it is not for Ministers to intervene in this process.
