At the SARC, there is an offer of a forensic medical examination, if clinically appropriate to do so, available to all clients. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/07/2019 answer text <p>The Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act 2018 is helping to drive up standards in the private and social rented sectors by putting an obligation on landlords to ensure that any rented residential properties are free of all hazards, including overcrowding, from which a risk of harm may arise to the health or safety of the tenant or another occupier of the property. This requirement applies from the outset and for the duration of the tenancy.</p><p>This Department has not made a specific assessment of the implications for properties that are smaller than 13 square metres in relation to the Homes Act. The courts will decide whether a property is fit for human habitation by considering the matters set out in section 10 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985, which includes the ‘overcrowding’ hazard prescribed in the Housing Health and Safety (England) Regulations 2005. The EU Settlement Scheme enables them to do so. The ‘EU Exit: Identity Document Check’ app is an optional aspect of the service which allows applicants to prove their identity remotely using their biometric identity document and an android smartphone device.</p><p>The app requires applicants to complete four quick steps – to take a photo of their identity document photo page, read the chip, complete a liveness check and take a photo of themselves using the device camera. The app process can be completed by the applicant alone, or with support from a third party, for example the applicant can choose to take the photo themselves using the front facing camera, or have a third party take the photo using the back camera.</p><p>So far, the app has undergone two separate accessibility audits, the first prior to the beta test phase and the second during the testing phase. The app development team have implemented recommendations from both audits, for example enabling users to utilise accessibility tools native to their device. It applies to anyone with an individual income over £50,000, who claims Child Benefit or whose partner claims it. The charge increases gradually for taxpayers with incomes between £50,000 and £60,000.</p><p> </p>If total household income was taken into account, information on the incomes of everyone in each of the eight million households receiving Child Benefit would need to be collected and would effectively introduce a new means test. Enhanced Through The Gate services are available to those prisoners via Community Rehabilitation Company rate cards. We are investing an additional £22m per annum over the remaining life of the CRC contracts to ensure that CRCs deliver an enhanced Through The Gate service to offenders leaving prison.
