<p>The next East Midlands franchise begins on 18 August 2019. The new operator, Abellio East Midlands, will be replacing the current rolling stock on regional and local services with modern refurbished trains, delivering improved customer facilities including passenger information systems, free on-board wi-fi and air conditioning. The details of the procurement and deployment of rolling stock will be a matter for Abellio.</p>
