Our bilateral trade was £6.6bn in 2018, an increase of 16.4% from 2017. UK exports to Taiwan grew by 40% from £1.96bn to £2.76bn (latest [ONS] data). As we leave the EU, we are committed to strengthening our trade partnership with Taiwan, and across Asia Pacific, including through the annual UK-Taiwan Trade Talks – due to take place in London in October. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/06/2019 answer text <p>In response to the recommendation from the Treasury Select Committee following its recent Inquiry into Economic Crime, HM Treasury will publish a detailed consideration of the process for responding to a recommendation from the Office for Professional Body Anti-Money Laundering Supervision (OPBAS) for the removal of a professional body’s status as an anti-money laundering (AML) supervisor, including management of changes in supervisory responsibilities, by September 2019. The next steps in strengthening the UK’s approach to AML supervision will be set out more fully through an Economic Crime Plan, which is due to be published in July 2019. <br> <br> This question has also been passed on to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), within which OPBAS is housed. The FCA will reply directly to Baroness Stern by letter. The Committee made recommendations in a report to both Houses, published on 20 May 2019. The Government welcomes the Committee’s thorough and helpful scrutiny of the Bill. We are considering their recommendations and will publish a response in due course.</p><p> </p><p>The Government intends to introduce the Bill to Parliament early in the second session. We are pleased to see that, in the most part, the people of Hong Kong have peacefully exercised their rights to freedom of speech and assembly, as guaranteed in the Sino-British Joint Declaration. However all allegations of inappropriate use of force by the Hong Kong police should be fully investigated by the Hong Kong SAR Government.</p><p>We welcome the Chief Executive's statement that she would not proceed with the second reading of the bill, if the fears and anxieties of the people of Hong Kong were not addressed. It is vital that Hong Kong's high degree of autonomy and the rights and freedoms set down in the Joint Declaration are respected in full.</p><p>The most recent 6 monthly report on Hong Kong published on 27 March, made clear our view that judicial independence in Hong Kong remains robust. The proposals themselves have no direct impact on judicial independence. As a responsible Government, we have been preparing to minimise any disruption in the event of no deal for more than two years.</p><p> </p><p>The Public Information Campaign [GOV.UK] and our international information campaign on great.gov.uk give businesses in the UK and Europe the information they need to prepare for EU Exit. It includes technical notices on trade remedies, existing free trade agreements and UK trade tariffs after EU Exit. Every Israeli and Palestinian has the right to live in peace and security. We understand and share the deep frustration on all sides at the lack of progress on the Middle East Peace Process. As the Secretary of State said in the House on 12 June 2019: ’the BBC is a fundamental part of the social and economic fabric of this country. The Licence Fee is part of a funding settlement agreed with the BBC as part of the Royal Charter.
