answer text <p>At Spring Statement 2019, the Chancellor of the Exchequer confirmed that mandation of Making Tax Digital (MTD) would not be extended to any new taxes or businesses next year.</p><p> </p><p>The Government will formally consult before any decision is taken to proceed with MTD for Corporation Tax, including on how the process will work in practice, with announcement to be considered as part of the fiscal events process, and made in due course.</p><p> </p><p>HMRC will continue to work closely with both software providers and stakeholders representing businesses and agents, so that the MTD service takes full account of the way businesses and their advisers operate.</p> more like this

answer text <p>We have provided information for the past 4 years of the number of people serving a prison sentence for a sexual offence against a child. To provide equivalent data for 30 June 2014 would entail disproportionate cost. This is due to an improvement made in 2015 where Child Sexual Abuse offences were specifically differentiated within our offence information.</p><p>30th June 2015 - 7,404<br>30th June 2016 - 8,376<br>30th June 2017 - 8,965<br>30th June 2018 - 9,167</p><p>The figures given have been drawn from administrative IT systems which, as with any large scale recording system, are subject to possible errors with data entry and processing.</p> more like this

answer text <p>HMPPS is committed to investigating and eliminating corruption to ensure prisons remain a safe and secure environment for staff, prisoners and visitors.</p><p> </p><p>There are over 46,000 people working in the Prison and Probation Service and the vast majority are dedicated and hard-working. However, when we do find evidence of wrongdoing by staff we do not hesitate to take firm disciplinary action.</p><p> </p><p>We have invested heavily in security measures to prevent contraband entering the estate. This includes training more than 300 sniffer dogs, rolling out scanners and transforming our intelligence capabilities. We have also built up our ability to work with law enforcement to disrupt criminal networks. Based on learning from these trial sites, a significant investment was made in 2018/19 to purchase 18 newly-designed body scanners for the establishments in the 10 Prisons Project and for the Long Term and High Security estate.</p><p> </p><p>We believe X-ray scanning technology provides an effective method of confirming whether a prisoner is attempting to smuggle contraband via internal concealment.</p><p> </p><p>The future rollout and tendering of a HMPPS specific contract for X-ray body scanning technology will commence formally later in 2019.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The NHS Long Term Plan sets a goal of an extra 345,000 children and young people aged 0-25 years, receiving support via NHS-funded mental health services by 2023/24. The NHS has also committed to funding for children and young people’s mental health services growing as a proportion of all mental health funding for the first time, which will itself grow faster than funding for the NHS overall.</p><p>Our Green Paper, ‘Transforming children and young people’s mental health provision: a green paper’ sets out how we plan to increase the availability of support for children and young people, by reaching them in schools or colleges through:</p><p>- incentivising every school or college to identify and train a senior mental health lead;</p><p>- creating new mental health support teams in and near schools and colleges; and</p><p>- piloting a four-week waiting time to ensure swifter access to specialist NHS mental health services for those who need it.</p><p> </p> more like this
