The Independent Case Examiner closed all live complaints concerning changes to women’s State Pension age when they became subject to legal proceedings, as is required under its governance contract. In the event the legal proceedings fall away or there is no determination on the matters which form the basis of this group of complaints, the Independent Case Examiner could consider reopening the cases at the request of the Department. These cover issues such as mutual recognition for technical regulations in certain sectors. The UK has now completed work to transition these agreements, where relevant, to bilateral UK-US agreements – ready to come into effect once the UK leaves the EU.</p><p> </p><p>On 14 February, the UK and US signed the Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) on Conformity Assessment. Other agreements, including on wine, spirits and marine equipment have been signed between the UK and US to ensure continuity as the UK leaves the EU.</p><p> </p><p>These agreements do not cover the bulk of UK trade with the US (our single largest bilateral trading partner). answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 10/05/2019 answer text <p>The draft guidance is clear that teaching for these subjects should be in line with pupil need, informed by pupil voice and participation in curriculum development, and should be in response to issues as they arise in the school and wider community. Schools should make sure that staff are equipped to deliver these subjects to a high standard, ensuring that the subjects are well led, effectively managed and planned. Staff have a vital contribution in ensuring these subjects are sensitive to the needs of pupils, for example by having regard to a pupil’s religious background or special educational need and also in ensuring they are embedded as part of a whole school approach.</p><p>Ofsted inspectors are required to consider pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development (SMSC) as part of section 5 school inspections. Ofsted’s school inspection handbook, attached, sets out the specific aspects considered under SMSC. It covers a broad range of matters including pupils’ reflectivity; moral and ethical issues; social interaction; participation in the community; and acceptance of and engagement with fundamental British values. Control and enforcement is a devolved matter, and devolved administrations are taking their own approach to control and enforcement at levels they feel appropriate for their waters.</p><p> </p><p>In England, the Marine Management Organisation (MMO) and Defra have enacted their plans to improve control and enforcement, enabling greater human and technological resources to be deployed now and when required in future. The MMO approach has included recruitment of additional marine enforcement officers. They are undergoing extensive training to become warranted in enforcement. Their responsibilities will include inspection of vessels and auction halls, surveillance, intelligence gathering, and educating and informing the fishing industry about potential changes to the law. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/05/2019 answer text <p>Artificial Intelligence is one of the global trends which will transform our future, changing jobs and businesses across the country, and we want people to be able to capitalise on these opportunities.</p><p>The AI Sector Deal, announced in April 2018, outlines up to £0.95bn package of support for the sector, which includes Government, industry and academic contributions.</p><p>Since the Sector Deal launch the Government has invested in a number of areas. For example:</p><ul><li>Announcement of £20 million Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund (ISCF) support for Next Generation Services using artificial intelligence, and £210 million ISCF support for Data to early diagnostics and precision medicine which includes using AI to analyse medical images in digital pathology.</li><li>Funded up to £50m for five new centres of excellence for digital pathology and imaging, including radiology, using AI medical advances.</li><li>Funded £30m for the new Bayes Centre in Edinburgh, a world-leading centre of data science and AI in October 2018.</li><li>£3m for three new research projects to investigate how businesses can make best use of AI in insurance and law as well as analysing consumer attitudes to AI.</li><li>Announced up to £79 million of Government funding to study 5 million healthy people to develop new diagnostic tests using AI.</li><li>Announced up to £79 million for three new AI programmes to transform engineering, urban planning and healthcare.</li><li>Announced £600,000 funding for UK-Korea Health Sciences collaboration to focus on better diagnosis of dementia through the use of AI.</li><li>40 artificial intelligence and data analytics projects, backed by £13 million in Government, announced to boost productivity and improve customer service.</li></ul><p>Our ambition in AI and data will not stop at the Sector Deal.
