<p>The current Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations are based on producer responsibility where producers have a financial obligation to pay for the environmentally sound collection, treatment and recycling of electronic products when they become waste. The Government has committed to reviewing the current WEEE system by 2020. This will involve consultation across Government and with interested stakeholders.</p><p> </p>
