answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/03/2019 answer text <p>The Government fully recognises the important role small and medium sized house builders (SME) play in delivering much needed housing in this country. We have already put in place a number of initiatives to help SME builders overcome barriers, specifically access to finance through the provision of the £4.5 billion Home Building Fund. £2.5 billion of which provides short term loans to SME housebuilders, custom builders and innovators. £110 million of that funding has been used to set up The Housing Growth Partnership. <br> <br>Launched in 2015, this is a £220 million partnership between Lloyds Bank and Homes England and is supporting the growth of SME house builders and expansion in the UK housing stock. It will deliver 3,400 homes. In addition, the Home Building Fund has also provided £125 million for the the Housing Delivery Fund launched by Barclays Bank and Homes England, in September 2018. The £1 billion development finance Fund will help build thousands of new homes across England. Of the £1 billion fund, Barclays is providing £875 million. <br> <br>A key priority of The Housing Delivery Fund is to support small and medium sized businesses to develop homes for rent or sale including social housing, retirement living and the private rented sector, whilst also supporting innovation in the model of delivery such as brownfield land and urban regeneration projects.</p><p>The Chancellor announced at Budget 2018 that the British Business Bank will deliver a new scheme providing guarantees to support up to £1 billion of lending to SME house builders. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/03/2019 answer text <p>As health is a devolved matter, it would be for the relevant Department in Northern Ireland to provide information on the improvement of insulin initiation in primary care throughout Northern Ireland.</p><p>Clinical inertia does not arise in the same way for type 1 diabetes or have the same known body of evidence as that for type 2 diabetes. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/03/2019 answer text <p>NHS England is developing a diabetes management and care programme aimed at reducing variation and improving outcomes for people with diabetes.</p><p> </p><p>NHS England is making an additional £44 million Transformation Funding available to support delivery of the programme which will focus on four areas: reducing variation in the achievement of the three National Institute for Health and Care Excellence treatment targets, improving take up of structured education, improving access to multi-disciplinary foot care teams for people with diabetic foot disease and improving access to specialist inpatient support. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/03/2019 answer text <p>NHS England issued advice in January 2018 to support specialist diabetes staff and primary care staff to effectively manage and support relevant type 1 diabetes patients to avoid and reduce the incidence of hypoglycaemia. The advice can be accessed at the following link:</p><p><a href="https://www.england.nhs.uk/publication/blood-glucose-monitoring-systems/" target="_blank">https://www.england.nhs.uk/publication/blood-glucose-monitoring-systems/</a></p><p>From April 2019 flash glucose monitors will be available on prescription for every patient who qualifies for them, in line with National Health Service clinical guidelines. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/03/2019 answer text <p>£40 million of transformation funding was made available to improve the treatment and care of people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes in England in 2017/18 and 2018/19. This investment funds 180 projects focused on improving patient outcomes.</p><p> </p><p>These interventions were selected because evidence indicated that, over time, they should improve outcomes, reduce costs and over the longer term become positively cost-saving:</p><p>- £18.9 million (cumulative) has been made available to put in place 41 new or expanded multidisciplinary footcare teams, reducing the risk of people with ulcers or other diabetes foot disease from having an amputation;</p><p> </p><p>- £9.8 million (cumulative) has been made available to put in place 30 new or expanded diabetes inpatient specialist nurse teams, reducing the lengths of hospital stays for people with diabetes through reducing medication errors and advising on effective treatment;</p><p> </p><p>- £20.7 million (cumulative) has been made available to 133 clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) who are offering expanded numbers of structured education places to support people newly diagnosed with diabetes to understand how to look after themselves well; and</p><p> </p><p>- £27.8 million (cumulative) has been made available to 108 CCGs to support general practice to increase the number of people who achieve the diabetes treatment targets (HbA1c, blood pressure and cholesterol) and so reduce the risks of complications developing.</p><p> </p><p>NHS England is taking steps to evaluate the impact of the programme.</p> answering member constituency Winchester answering member printed Steve Brine question first answered 12/03/2019 16:29:57 answering member 4067 label Biography information for Steve Brine
