The package of UK support to Libya announced in August 2017 includes £1 million this year to fund demining training and education across the country and increase the capacity of Libyan authorities to deal with explosive hazards. The UK has supported demining in Egypt since 2006 through multilateral funding along with other donors including Germany, Japan, New Zealand and the US. The projects have funded clearance of 130,446 acres of land around El Alamein, provision of artificial limbs for 479 land mine victims, and three mine risk education campaigns benefiting 160,000 individuals. It is essential that all parties to the conflict in Yemen, including Houthi forces, comply with International Humanitarian Law (IHL). We regularly raise the importance of IHL compliance with the Saudi-led Coalition, and when allegations of IHL are made, we insist that they are investigated and that any lessons are acted upon. It is a fundamental freedom which underpins many other human rights. The UK – alongside partners – remains committed to the UN process to develop both a Global Compact for Migration and a Global Compact for Refugees. The decision by the United States to withdraw from the former does not alter the UK Government’s commitment to engage fully and work towards the successful delivery of these compacts. We believe that the Global Compact on Migration should offer an effective international framework to ensure that migration is safe and orderly and that it should balance the rights and responsibilities of both states and migrants. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/01/2018 answer text <p>The new Single Departmental Plan of the Department for International Development (DFID) puts the Sustainable Development Goal 2 (SDG2) at the centre of our work to eradicate extreme poverty, deliver inclusive economic development, including sustainable agricultural programmes and investments, and build resilience. Spend through our bilateral and multilateral agriculture programmes to reduce hunger and under-nutrition has increased, from £243million (2012) to £484 million (2015) and roughly £600 million in 2016. We are also working to shape the multilateral agenda. The Global Agriculture and Food Security Program (GAFSP) harnesses both public and private investments for SDG2 and implements through a range of multilateral institutions. DFID is a global leader in addressing acute hunger through humanitarian and famine relief. DFID has also committed to improve the nutrition of 50 million people overseas by 2020 and published a Position Paper setting out our plans.
