answer text <p>Ministers have considered the latest evidence on the effective deployment and professional development of teaching assistants, together with a summary of the call for evidence and the draft teaching assistant standards submitted by the expert panel.</p><p> </p><p>In the light of this evidence, the Government believes that schools are best placed to decide how they use and deploy teaching assistants, and to set standards for the teaching assistants they employ. The Secretary of State has therefore decided not to publish the draft standards.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>Sellafield is the most hazardous site in Europe and contains the legacy ponds and silos – some of the most challenging decommissioning facilities. These have been deemed ‘intolerable’ by the Office of Nuclear Regulation, meaning that there can be no constraint on progress to remediate the hazards.</p><p>As part of its request for future funding as part of the Spending Review announced by HMT on 21 July, DECC’s return contains details of NDA’s estimates of expenditure in line with its existing plans.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) is in the process of submitting advice to DECC, which together with other sources of information and evidence, will enable DECC to consider options for the disposition of plutonium.</p><p>There are a number of options for disposing of plutonium that will be considered. There is variation in the generating potential of some of the options, so there is not one specific estimate of the generating potential of the UK’s plutonium inventory.</p><p>When the Government is confident that its preferred option for plutonium disposition could be implemented safely and securely, and in a way that is affordable, deliverable, and offers value for money, we will be in a position to proceed.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>The Government welcomes the creation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. In September 2013 the Government published an National Action Plan entitled “Good Business” setting out how we would implement the UN Guiding Principles and what action we would take to support the principles internationally including by encouraging other states to follow the principles and to publish their own national action plans where possible. The Government has provided financial support to the UN Working Group on the issue of human rights and transnational corporations and other business enterprises in their role to promote uptake of the Guiding Principles and develop guidance and best practice world-wide including for use in Malawi.</p> more like this
